Web Design Tricks

We maintained an eye on the ever-changing web trends when it comes to design. That is why we put together a comprehensive list of some of the web design trends we expect to see well beyond 2022 after speaking with many web design experts. We hope that this list not only inspires you, but also changes the way you think about the web.

1.       Retro fonts - Retro fonts have gone through the same ups and downs in popularity, and many designs with antique typography haven't held up well over time. Throwback typography, on the other hand, is making a comeback. The old fonts have been replaced. Rather, artistry and stylization are redefining what retro fonts can be. On the page for Spotify's Carnival promotion, we see this blending of old and new. Instead of feeling outdated and cliche, they experiment with conventional bold typefaces to give them fresh life. This is an excellent example of taking traditional fonts and giving them a cool, modern twist while yet preserving legibility.

2.       3D Visuals - With the advent of better resolution screens, 3D design has progressed significantly beyond Geocities' blocky and beveled edges. High-quality 3D images have been seamlessly woven into site designs. Rather than being distracting, they enhance the entire user experience. Sennep, a creative agency, uses 3D components across their website to add depth. There's a good sense of cohesion between all of the design aspects here. This is a great illustration of how 3D can have a stronger impact in more simple layouts.

3.       Grain focus - Rigid grids and solid color blocks might take away a website's charm. Grainy textures might help them feel more organic. This website for Studio Gusto exemplifies the charm of graininess. It makes use of lo-fi design components for a more authentic user experience than the glossy perfection found in many online designs.

4.       Preference Design - Web development has progressed significantly in terms of providing more personalized experiences. This can range from incorporating a dark/light mode toggle and other options to change a site's design and navigation to providing material tailored to one's preferences, such as Spotify's bespoke playlists. The internet is becoming less of a passive user experience and more user-centered thanks to new design techniques and algorithms. The future will place even greater emphasis on addressing the requirements, interests, and preferences of those who use websites.

5.       Illustrations - Not so long ago, websites consisted solely of text and a few photos or graphics. Designers are increasingly creating work that connects with consumers on a more intimate level, thanks to advancements in web design. Cartoon graphics have grown in popularity as a method to add a touch of humanity to webpages. There are numerous sources and artists who create great cartoon images. Blush is a fantastic resource for finding bespoke character illustrations.
